Malignant Neoplasm

We would suggest the following herbs:

Turmeric: Curcumin kills cancer cells and inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It is also anti-inflammatory. Great results on colon, breast, prostate and melanoma cancer cells. *Tip: Mix with Black pepper (Piperine) and olive oil to activate and help with absorption. It can be used as a rub or added to soups, juices and stews*.

Ginger: Its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties protect against Cancer. It is also used as a herbal remedy for upset stomach, nausea and vomiting and can serve as an appetite stimulant. Avoid use prior to surgery as it thins the blood. Best absorption is when it is eaten or added to drinks. *Tip: Steep a few thin slices in hot water for 10 minutes to make a soothing tea*.

Cayenne pepper: A powerful antioxidant that helps with weight loss and is a natural anti-inflammatory. It is toxic to cancer cells and helps prevent the growth of cancer cells.

Saffron: An expensive spice that packs a punch. It contains water-soluble carotenoids that inhibit tumour growth and the progression of cancer cells.

Oregano: The richest source of antioxidants amount herbs, slows cancer growth and promotes apoptosis (cellular death). It has antibacterial properties and is a natural disinfectant.

Garlic: The most powerful anti-cancer spice is part of the cancer-fighting allium group (onions, scallions, leeks, shallots, chives). Garlic is antibacterial, boosts the immune system and helps fight diseases, as well as colds and flu. It also decreases the growth of cancer cells.  Enhanced DNA repair. *Tip:  Take 1 daily dose, I.e.: 1 clove, and “chop and stop”, i.e.: chop it up and then let it sit for 10 minutes before using it to allow for the formation of allicin, the active enzyme*.

Zinc: Helps prevent taste changes, a side effect of radiation, chemotherapy and some pain meds.

Astragalus: Eases the side effects of chemotherapy, nausea and vomiting. But it can stop some medicines from working.

Glutamine: Can help with peripheral neuropathy (weakness, numbness or pain in your hands and feet) and mouth sores.

Ginseng:  In high doses, this can reduce cancer-related fatigue.

Guarana: Helps with chemotherapy-related fatigue, especially in breast cancer patients.

Burdock: Purifies the blood.

Reishi Tincture: An adaptogen. Helpful with depression and brings the mind and body back into balance.

Ground Flaxseed: Rich in omega 3’s. Simply sprinkle it over your food and enjoy.

Vitamin D: Can absorb calcium and help the muscle, nervous and immune systems function. Many cancers, especially breast cancer, have a higher risk of occurring when the body is low on Vita D. Recommended daily dose is 15mcg. It is also obtained from the sun: best to be in the sun for 20 minutes with minimal clothing on and no sunblock around midday each day. It is also found in fatty fish, egg yolk and fortified milk.

Anti-oxidants for after radiation and chemotherapy only:

Vitamin E: fat-soluble and is a strong antioxidant, helping the body remove cell destroying free radicals. Very beneficial for prostate, colon and lung cancers. Recommended daily dose is 8-10mg. It can be found in almonds, avocado, broccoli, beans, mango, spinach, beans, and olive oil.

Vitamin C:

Selenium: removes free radicals from the body. These are unstable molecules that can lead to cancer if not removed. 300mcg dosage has had positive effects on the following cancers: oesophagus, colon, lung and liver. The Daily recommended dose is 55mcg. Can be found in cereal, grains and brazil nuts.

Beta-carotene:

Moringa: An antioxidant that fights free radicals.
