We would suggest the following herbs:

Buckthorn: Cascara sagrada: A laxative that comes from the bark extract of the buckthorn tree. It literally irritates the colon enough to move and promotes bowel movements. Very short term use is advised, worst case it can cause an electrolyte imbalance where you can have an electrolyte beverage. Long term use is not advised as it may cause liver injury/failure.

Psyllium: Natural fibre laxative that helps create bulk stools. It may be used for chronic constipation and use with other remedies.

Senna: Often used to clear the bowels prior to surgeries. The fruit is said to be gentler than the leaf. Use short term and abide by recommended doses. High doses or long term can cause liver damage.

Slippery elm: It stimulates the nerves in the gastrointestinal tract, which results in mucus production which provides relief from constipation. It may reduce the absorption of some other medication when taken at the same time.
