Garlic – Well known for its preventative and curative powers. It can be an effective treatment against many forms of bacteria including salmonella and E.coli. And many multidrug-resistant strains. It has also been used to combat TB. You can use a garlic concentrate/extract. Or make your own by soaking a few cloves of garlic in olive oil. This is safe to ingest in small doses. Honey – For years honey has been used as an ointment to heal and prevent or draw out infections. It is used in present days to heal chronic wounds, burns, sores, bedsores, ulcers and skin grafts. It kills off the bacteria and helps with the healing process. Manuka honey is best. Goldenseal – Although usually consumed in tea or capsule form for digestive or respiratory concerns. It may also combat bacterial diarrhoea and UTI’s. It has also been used to treat skin infections. It contains Berberine, an important component of anti-biotics. This alkaloid is not safe for pregnancy, lactation or infants.
